PUBLIC HEARING NOTICE Coalville City Council UPDATED CITY ANNEXATION POLICY PLAN Public notice is hereby given that the Coalville City Council will conduct a Public Hearing to review, discuss, receive comment, and possibly adopt an updated annexation policy plan for the City. The Public Hearing is scheduled for Monday, September 14, 2026, beginning at 6:00 P.M. at the Coalville City Hall located at 10 North Main. The existing annexation policy plan was adopted in 1995 and is out of date with current state statues, evaluation guidelines, and processing requirements for annexations. It also does not reflect the current city's direction and focus on considering annexation petitions. Mountain Association of Governments (MAG) aided the city in drafting an updated annexation policy plan. The focus was to make the plan simple, straightforward, and easy to read/understand. On June 22, 2026 the city council conducted a work session on the draft policy plan and directed staff to initiate the review process for consideration of a recommendation by the planning commission. The planning commission reviewed and discussed the draft policy plan and on August 18, 2026 conducted a public hearing and unanimously recommended approval of the plan to the city council. All interested persons may attend the public hearing in person or virtually and make public comment. Written comments may also be emailed to Coalville City at cityhall@coalvillecity.org.
