NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING
For
INDEPENDENCE ROAD PHASE II
Notice is hereby given that the Uintah Transportation Special Service District (UTSSD) will hold a public hearing to discuss submitting an application to the Permanent Community Impact Board (CIB) for funding the proposed Independence Road Phase II West Area Road Improvements Project. This project would consist of reconstructing roughly 6.5 miles of road along 1500 East from 3000 South to 5000 South and along 3750 South, 4500 East, and 4000 South from 1500 East to 5500 East, generally located in the Independence area in Uintah County. The CIB funding application will be in the amount of $18,000,000.
UTSSD will solicit comments concerning the size, scope, and nature of the funding request for the above project. All interested persons shall be given an opportunity to be heard. The public is encouraged to attend.
The hearing will be held on September 22, 2026, at 5:00 p.m. in the large conference room at the Uintah County Building, 152 East 100 North, Vernal, Utah.
