Description/Agenda
Notice is hereby given that a Public Hearing will be held Wednesday, September 2, 2026 at 11:00 AM in the Rich County Courthouse, 20 S. Main Street in Randolph. The Rich County Board of Commissioners is considering a proposed ordinance that would allow Board of Equalization members and the public the option to attend Board of Equalization meetings electronically. A copy of a proposed agreement can be obtained by contacting the Rich County Clerk, Anneliesa Peart at (435) 793-2415.
Utah Code ยง 52-4-207 (2024) permits the County to authorize certain public bodies to hold meetings where board members and the public can request to attend electronically. The County is contemplating an ordinance that would allow electronic attendance to Board of Equalization meetings. The ordinance would (1) require a physical 'anchor location' where members of the public and board members can attend in-person and (2) set rules for establishing a quorum and rules for voting.
The Board of Commissioners is soliciting the public's comments on the proposed ordinance. Those attending the hearing will be invited to provide their input. Those wishing to comment, but who are unable to attend the hearing may also submit written comments to the Rich County Clerk prior to the hearing.
