PUBLIC NOTICE PUBLIC HEARING - ALTA PLANNING COMMISSION WEDNESDAY, AUGUST 26, 2026 at 3:00 PM ALTA COMMUNITY CENTER 10351 E HWY 210, ALTA, UTAH NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Town of Alta Planning Commission will hold a public hearing on Wednesday, August 26, 2026, at 3:00 p.m., or as soon thereafter as practical. The purpose of the public hearing is to receive public input on the following: 1. Consideration of amending Section 9-1-2 Of the Town of Alta Municipal Code to adopt the 2024 Edition of the International Wildland Urban Interface Code in accordance with H.B. 41 of the 2026 General Legislative Session of the State of Utah. 2. Consideration of amending Section 10-5 of the Town of Alta Municipal Code to amend the Land Use Appeal Authority from the Town Council to an Administrative Law Judge in accordance with S.B. 284 of the 2026 General Legislative Session of the State of Utah. 3. Consideration of amending Section 10-6A-5 of the Town of Alta Municipal Code to amend authority to determine setback requirements in Forestry and Recreation Zones from the Town Council to the Planning Commission. Materials will be available for review on the Town's website, www.townofalta.utah.gov and in the Town Office at 10201 East Highway 210 during normal business hours prior to the meeting. Following the public hearing, the planning commission will hold a regular business meeting. Questions regarding this notice may be directed to: Chris Cawley, Town Manager, P.O. This will be a hybrid meeting with instructions to participate virtually available on our website. Individuals making public comment may speak for up to three minutes during the public hearing. To make a comment during the public hearing virtually please contact (molly@townofalta.utah.gov) in advance of the meeting. If you are interested in watching the meeting virtually without making public comment, it will be broadcast on the Town of Alta Live Stream available here: https://www.townofalta.utah.gov/live-stream/ Written public input can be submitted here: https://www.townofalta.utah.gov/public-comment-form/ Notice Provisions: - One or more members of the planning commission may attend by electronic means, including telephonically. Such members may fully participate in the proceedings as if physically present. The anchor location for purposes of the electronic meeting is the ALTA COMMUNITY CENTER, 10361 EAST HWY 210, ALTA, UTAH - Reasonable accommodations (including auxiliary communicative aids and services) for individuals with disabilities may be provided upon receipt of a request with three (3) working days' notice.
