PUBLIC NOTICE: Moroni City to Reclaim unused Cemetery Lots Attention: Owners and Heirs of Moroni City Cemetery Lots Moroni City is giving official notice, pursuant to Utah State Code (§ 8-5-6), and as formally adopted by Moroni City Resolution No. 2025-10-16B, that it will RECLAIM ownership of any cemetery lot, plot, or site that has been unused for burial purposes for more that sixty (60) years. The following lots are affected by this action: Original Owners Last Name Section/Block/Lot/Plot Number Samuel Gee Section B Block 2 Lot 60F Plots 1-3 & 8 Clara Gee Section B Block 2 Lot 58F Plots 3 & 6 William Story Section C Block 1 Lot 43F Plots 1-6 T. Blaine Moore Section C Block 1 Lot 44F Plots 3-8 Hans Jacob Arnoldson Section C Block 1 Lot 45F Plots 2 & 6-8 Monte Anderson Section D Block 3 Lot 44F Plots 1,4, & 6-8 Ruel Syme Section D Block 3 Lot 53F Plots 4-8 W.R Macintosh Section E Block 3 Lot 33S Plot 4 ACTION YOU MUST TAKE If you are an owner or heir of an unused lot (over 60 years) in the Moroni City Cemetery and wish to keep your ownership rights, you must do the following: DEADLINE: You have 60 days from the last day this notice is published to respond. WHAT TO FILE: You must file a formal Notice of Legal Interest in the lot, plot, or site. This notice must state your valid intent to use the property for a burial. WHERE TO FILE: The notice must be filed with: Carol Haskins, Moroni City Recorder 80 South 200 West | PO BOX 870 Moroni UT 84646 435-436-8359 ext 1 | recorder@moronicity.gov WHAT HAPPENS IF YOU DON'T RESPOND If the Moroni City Recorder does not receive a valid claim of interest from you within the 60-day period of the last day of publication: - Your ownership rights will be considered terminated. - The lot will be legally recognized as abandoned and ownership will automatically transfer to Moroni City.
