PUBLIC HEARING NOTICE Coalville City Planning Commission UPDATED CITY ANNEXATION POLICY PLAN Public notice is hereby given that the Coalville City Planning Commission will conduct a Public Hearing to review, discuss, receive comment, and possibly make a recommendation to the city council on an updated annexation policy plan for the City. The Public Hearing is scheduled for Tuesday 18, 2026, beginning at 6:00 P.M. at the Coalville City Hall located at 10 North Main. The existing annexation policy plan was adopted in 1995 and is out of date with current state statues, evaluation guidelines, and processing requirements for annexations. It also does not reflect the current city's direction and focus on considering annexation petitions. Mountain Association of Governments (MAG) aided the city in drafting an updated annexation policy plan. The focus was to make the plan simple, straightforward, and easy to read/understand. On June 22, 2026 the city council conducted a work session on the draft policy plan and directed staff to initiate the review process for consideration of a recommendation by the planning commission. All interested persons may attend the public hearing in person or virtually and make public comment. Written comments may also be emailed to Coalville City at cityhall@coalvillecity.org.
