JOB ANNOUNCEMENT Marysvale Town Treasurer Marysvale Town is seeking a part-time Treasurer. The town will be accepting resumes until Monday, August 17, 2026 at 5:00 pm. Interested candidates can email their resume to tjackson99@msn.com. The successful candidate will be responsible for the following duties: Act as custodian for all town money, bonds, securities, and accounts Receive all public funds and revenues payable to the town (taxes, licenses, fines, utility fees, and intergovernmental grants) and deposit them into approved financial institutions within three business days Maintain accurate, detailed, and transparent ledger accounts of all receipts and disbursements as directed by the town council and state guidelines Review and sign checks or warrants for payment only after verifying that adequate cash balance exists and that claims have been properly approved by the town council Manage idle cash and execute investments strictly following the Utah State Money Management Act (Title 51, Chapter 7), often utilizing the Public Treasurers' Investment Fund (PTIF) Complete and publish monthly and annual financial statements, budget tracking, and preparation for the annual independent state audit Be involved with loading the hand held machine and coordinating with Nathan to have the meters read. Send out water bills Collect money for water accounts Make bank deposits File a water report with Nathan to the State of Utah Ordering supplies such as prepaid envelopes, three cut sheets Answering calls about water accounts Send out notices to business to renew their business licenses Collect for business licenses Send out of certificate of business license Be involved in getting address for new construction Be involved in building permits Collect for building permits Coordinate with the inspector for building permits Meet with people to sell cemetery lots Update kiosk at the cemetery Collect money and send certificate of cemetery lots Coordinate with Nathan to open and close graves Prepare budget Prepare and meet with auditor each year Collect money for rent on buildings Order supplies for community center and bathrooms in the park and restrooms across the river Collect payroll Pay employees File payroll taxes and pay online Prepare w-2's for employees Qualifications: High school diploma or equivalent required; coursework or experience in bookkeeping, basic accounting, or public administration preferred Must be bondable in the amount set by the Utah State Money Management Council for public treasurers Familiarity with basic mathematics, spreadsheet software (Excel/Google Sheets), and 10-key operations Ability to understand and apply relevant Utah municipal statutes High ethical standards and ability to pass a background check Understanding of general guidance on fund segregation via the Utah Office of the State Auditor Work with state auditors to complete financial audit Attend monthly Town Board meetings and provide reporting for bank accounts and disbursements
