NOTICE OF VACANCY Cache County Fire Protection District Board of Trustees Vacancy and Required Qualifications Cache County is seeking individuals who wish to be considered for appointment to the Cache County Fire Protection District Board of Trustees to fill upcoming board vacancies (up to 11 potential positions subject to statutory determination). - Qualifications: Applicants must be registered voters residing within the physical boundaries of the District. - Note: The Fire Protection District boundaries encompass all area within Cache County except Logan City. How to Apply Persons interested in serving should complete the online application available on the Cache County website: - Application Link: www.cachecounty.gov/bac (Click on the application button at the top of the page) - Application Deadline: Sunday, August 23, 2026, at 5:00 p.m. Public Hearing & Appointment Process Pursuant to Utah Code § 17B-1-304 and Cache County Code § 8.16.040, a joint public hearing and review process will take place as follows: 1. Public Hearing: The Cache County Council will hold a public hearing on Tuesday, August 25, 2026, at 5:30 p.m. during its regular session to hear from interested candidates and receive public input regarding the district vacancies. 2. Review & Appointment: Following the close of the public hearing and review of submitted applications, appointments will be considered in accordance with state statutory requirements and county advice-and-consent procedures during that evening's regular session or at a subsequent publicly noticed meeting. Applicants are invited to attend the Cache County Council meeting on Tuesday, August 25, 2026, to introduce themselves during the public hearing.
