TOWN OF MANTUA, UTAH
RESOLUTION NO. 2026-07-16A
A RESOLUTION AMENDING RESOLUTION NO. 2023-01-09(A) AND THE TOWN OF MANTUA SUMMARY OF FEES TO ADJUST CULINARY WATER, GARBAGE, AND RECYCLING UTILITY RATES.
WHEREAS, the Town of Mantua owns and operates a culinary water system, garbage collection, and recycling services for the benefit of its residents; and
WHEREAS, the master Summary of Fees schedule, originally established under Resolution No. 2023-01-09(A) and subsequently updated (most recently by Resolution No. 2026-04-16), sets forth the rates for municipal utility services; and
WHEREAS, the Town Council reviewed these utility rates during the Fiscal Year 2026-2027 budget process and determined that the adjustments are necessary to maintain financially sustainable utility operations, ensure proper operation, maintenance, and the long-term viability of the town's infrastructure and public services; and
WHEREAS, a review of current operational costs indicates that adjustments to the water, garbage, and recycling rates are required to meet ongoing budgetary obligations; and
WHEREAS, Utah Code ยงยง 10-8-84, 10-8-15, 10-6-133, and other applicable provisions authorize municipalities to establish and modify rates, fees, and charges for municipal utility services;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Town Council of the Town of Mantua, Utah, that the Summary of Fees is hereby amended to revise the culinary water, garbage, and recycling utility rates as set forth in Section 1 below. Section 1. Utility Rate Amendments
The utility rates listed under the 'Utility Rates and Deposits' section of the Town of Mantua Summary of Fees are hereby amended to reflect the following changes:

Water Tier 3 (90,001 - 130,000 gallons) $2.25 / thousand $3.00 / thousand
Water Tier 4 (130,001 gallons and above) $2.75 / thousand $3.50 / thousand
Garbage Rate (First / additional cans) $14.00 / month $16.00 / month
Recycling Rate $7.00 / month $8.00 / month
Section 2. Effective Date
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the rates established herein shall become effective July 16, 2026, and shall apply to all utility billings thereafter.
Section 3. Repealed / Conflict Clause
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that all prior resolutions, fee schedules, or portions thereof in conflict with this Resolution are hereby amended only to the extent necessary to give effect to the provisions herein.
Section 4. Severability Clause
If any provision of this Resolution is determined to be invalid by a court of competent jurisdiction, the remaining provisions shall remain in full force and effect.
