NOTICE OF MID-TERM CITY COUNCIL VACANCY
Wellsville City hereby gives notice of a mid-term vacancy on the Wellsville City Council.
In accordance with Utah Code ยง 20A-1-510, the City Council will fill this vacancy by appointment. The appointed individual will serve as a member of the Wellsville City Council through January 5, 2028, completing the remainder of the unexpired term.
Eligibility Requirements:
Applicants must be a United States citizen; be at least 18 years of age; a registered voter within Wellsville City; and a resident of Wellsville City for at least 12 consecutive months immediately preceding the appointment; and must not be a convicted felon; must not have been convicted of treason or of an election crime; must not have been declared mentally incompetent; and must not have had the right to hold public office restricted - unless convicted felon's right to vote or hold office has been restored pursuant to Article IV, Section 6, of the Utah Constitution and U.C.A. 20A-2-101.5. Application Process:
Interested individuals shall submit a complete and notarized City Council Vacancy Application to Scott Wells, City Recorder no later than Monday, July 29, 2026, at 5:00 p.m. Applications may be submitted in person or by mail to: Wellsville City Recorder PO Box 6, Wellsville, Utah 84339.
Interview and Appointment:
Qualified applicants will be interviewed by the Mayor and City Council during an open and public City Council meeting on Wednesday, August 5, 2026, at 6:00 p.m., held in the Wellsville City Council Chambers, located at 75 East Main, Wellsville, Utah. The City Council will make the appointment during the same meeting.
