PUBLIC HEARING NOTICE
Town of Mantua Culinary Water, Garbage, and Recycling Utility Rate Adjustments
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Town Council of the Town of Mantua will hold a public hearing on Thursday, July 16, 2026, beginning at 4:30 PM. The hearing will be held at Mantua Town Hall, 409 N Main St, Mantua, UT 84324.
The purpose of the public hearing is to allow for public comment regarding proposed amendments to Resolution No. 2023-01-09(A) and the Town of Mantua Summary of Fees to adjust municipal utility rates.
Project Description:
The proposed adjustments consist of three primary components to meet ongoing budgetary obligations and ensure infrastructure viability:
1. Culinary Water Rate Adjustments: Amending the base rate from $31.00 to $34.00 per month, with tiered usage increases ranging from $1.50 to $3.50 per thousand gallons.
2. Garbage Rate Adjustments: Amending the monthly rate for first and additional cans from $14.00 to $16.00 per month.
3. Recycling Rate Adjustments: Amending the monthly recycling service rate from $7.00 to $8.00 per month.
Proposed Financing:
The rate increases are proposed under Resolution No. 2026-07-16 to fund the proper operation, maintenance, and long-term viability of the town's public utility infrastructure and services.
Public Impact:
The proposed resolution will directly impact municipal utility account holders within the Town of Mantua. Information regarding the exact financial impact of these user fee increases, including the updated fee schedule, will be discussed at the hearing.
