Objectives: At the end of this meeting, participants will be able to:
- Review Vineyard Days, FY26 impact, and remaining follow-up needs
- Discuss Commission/coalition recruitment, work group launch timing, and impact tracking
- Review FY27 grant/budget updates and CADCA/CTC milestone support needs
- Confirm July-December 2026 priorities, including fall programs, school partnerships, and community events

1. Welcome, Attendance, and Meeting Overview
Brief welcome, attendance check, quorum confirmation, and overview of meeting priorities.
2. Review and Approval of May Commission Meeting Minutes - Action Item
Review and approve the May 28, 2026 Commission meeting minutes.
3. Vineyard Days and FY26 Impact Review
Brief post-event review of the June 5 Vineyard Cares Community Block Party, June 6 parade participation, and overall FY26 events/programs.
Discussion/action items may include:
- Review Vineyard Days attendance, volunteer support, activity flow, partner coordination, outreach, and lessons learned
- Identify FY26 program highlights, successes, and areas for improvement
- Confirm remaining follow-up needs, including thank-yous, budget recap, survey review, reporting, and documentation
- Discuss volunteer hours, participation numbers, community impact tracking, and quarterly reporting support
4. Commission and Coalition Recruitment / Work Group Launch
Continue discussion of Commission recruitment, coalition growth, member engagement, and work group development.
Discussion/action items may include:
- Identify possible Commission and coalition candidates, including current vacancies, sector representation needs, and potential partner/community voices to invite
- Discuss recruitment strategies, onboarding, and ways to help members feel connected and useful
- Confirm timing for launching the two initial work groups: Community Compass: Assessment & Data and Welcome Wagon: Outreach, Engagement, and Coalition Development
- Determine whether to recruit work group members at the August 13 Coalition Meeting and launch the work groups in September
5. July-December 2026 Priorities and Fall Program Planning
Discuss, rank, and narrow fall priorities so staff, Commission, and coalition members can move forward with a realistic July-December plan.
Potential July-December priorities may include:
- Back-to-school outreach and school partnership follow-up
- August 13 coalition meeting, recruitment, and onboarding
- September family connection / family meals prevention campaign, in connection with National Family Meals Month and National Family Day
- September suicide prevention outreach and messaging, aligned with National Suicide Prevention Month
- Participation in the City's 9/11 remembrance event
- Possible Brotherhood Film / 'Love Your Neighbor' Tour partnership
- Red Ribbon Week support
- Boo-palooza participation
- October prevention messaging, including Youth Substance Use Prevention Month and Bullying Prevention Month
- November Kindness Week / One Kind Act a Day participation
- Guiding Good Choices parent/family series
- SHARP data review and community assessment work
- Parent and family engagement, partner follow-up, coalition recruitment, and work group development
Discussion/action items may include:
- Rank or identify top July-December priorities and confirm which fall programs/events should move forward
- Identify school outreach priorities and next steps, including back-to-school nights, Red Ribbon Week, school prevention program support, and other opportunities with local schools
- Decide preferred Guiding Good Choices structure, including whether to pursue a Families Talking Together partnership with Elevate Utah, formerly Centro Hispano
- Discuss whether the Brotherhood Film / 'Love Your Neighbor' Tour opportunity aligns with Vineyard Cares priorities and what additional information is needed
- Discuss Valley Hope Church follow-up and opportunities to rekindle past partnerships or explore partner-led workshops, events, trainings, and family support resources
- Determine what should be led by coordinator, Commission, coalition, or work groups
6. FY27 Grants, Budget, and CADCA/CTC Milestone Update
Brief review of FY27 funding, grant expectations, and CADCA/CTC milestone work.
Discussion/action items may include:
- Review FY27 Tobacco Prevention/EMOD funding, County CTC grant status, budget updates, and general July-December spending considerations
- Discuss CADCA/CTC required products, the July 31 draft deadline, and whether any Commission members are willing to provide limited July review support, if needed
7. Open Discussion
Additional updates, concerns, partner opportunities, or ideas from Commission members.
8. Upcoming Meetings and Next Steps
Confirm upcoming meeting schedule and immediate next steps.
- Next regularly scheduled Coalition Meeting: Thursday, August 13, 2026, 6:00 PM at Vineyard City Hall
- Confirm whether August 13 conflicts with any known back-to-school nights or major community/school conflicts and if 6pm is the preferred start time of our monthly meetings
- Determine next Commission Board meeting date
- Discuss whether future meetings should be online, in person, or a mix of both
- Review key assignments and deadlines
