- The Morgan County Commission proposes a text amendment to Morgan County Code 151.03 Agriculture Protection Areas. (A) Purpose and intent. The purpose of this section is to implement Utah Code Title 17, Chapter 81, as amended, providing a local framework for the creation, continuation, modification, and termination of Agricultural Protection Areas in the unincorporated County. (1) Agricultural Protection Areas are intended to: (a) Protect and encourage the continued use of land for viable agricultural production; (b) Support the County's General Plan policies for agricultural lands and rural character; and (c) Align eligibility for Agricultural Protection Areas with the qualification standards of the Farmland Assessment Act ('FAA'), Utah Code Title 59, Chapter 2, Part 5, as amended, while recognizing that FAA assessment decisions are made solely by the County Assessor under state law.
