- Enforcement Council Labor Commission, 160 East 300 South, Salt Lake City June 9, 2026 - 9:30 a.m. Council Members Present: Chris Hill, Chair Deputy Commissioner, Labor Commission Todd Jenson Assistant Attorney General Marisela Chavez Director, Utah State Tax Commission Mike Miller Unemployment Insurance Division, Department of Workforce Services Justin Williams Unemployment Insurance Division Director, Department of Workforce Services Allyson Pettley Bureau Manager, Division of Professional Licensing, Utah Department of Commerce Council Members Excused: Visitors: A list of visitors is provided at the end of the Minutes. Topic Discussion Action Welcome and Approval of Minutes Chair Hill called the meeting to order at 9:31 a.m. and welcomed everyone. Chair Hill moved to approve the March meeting minutes. Justin Williams seconded the motion. All were in favor. Business Legislative updates Misclassification Issues Presentation Next Meeting Public Comment Closed Meeting Opened Meeting None None Chair Hill emailed the labor commission spreadsheet, noting that Krystal Smith is handling these cases. Chair Hill also noted there was an uptick in new cases that have been received this quarter. Krystal noted there is an uptick, but the cases remain consistent. Verolinda Granados will be handling any cases and questions moving forward. Allyson Pettley stated there is a new investigator named David Hill. Allyson also noted that the passing of HB396 will be impactful to his case load. David can be reached at dmhill@utah.gov. Chair Hill offered September 8, 2026, at 9:30 a.m. for the next meeting. Future meeting schedule proposal: September 8, 2026 December 8, 2026 None Chair Hill motioned to close the open meeting. Allyson Pettley seconded the motion. All were in favor. The meeting adjourned at 9:37 a.m. Chair Hill opened the meeting at 9:41 a.m. Chair Hill motioned to close the meeting. Justin Williams and Allyson Pettley seconded the motion. All were in favor.
