OGDEN CITY NOTICE OF FIRE RESTRICTION
YELLOW - ELEVATED CONDITIONS
In accordance with Ogden Municipal Code 11-6-3, notice is hereby given that due to forecasted hot and dry weather conditions and an observed decrease in fuel moisture levels - indicators of heightened fire danger and the potential for rapidly spreading fires -a Yellow Fire Restriction shall be implemented effective immediately and until further notice, in the areas listed below:
Areas with Restrictions:
1. Dry, grassy, brushy, or wooded areas across the city. This includes:
- The Ogden and Weber River Parkway, from the Ogden Canyon to the west and south edges of the city.
- Parks near the rivers.
- Fort Buenaventura, the city baseball park, and dog park off A Avenue.
- The old landfill area at 2550 A Avenue near Fort Buenaventura.
2. Areas within 200 feet of rivers, trails, canyons, and similar spots.
3. Hillside areas near homes, especially those east of Harrison Boulevard.
4. Some nearby areas just outside these zones to help create clear fire-safe boundaries.
What's Not Allowed:
- Aerial fireworks.
- Anything that can start a fire in places that are not landscaped, not watched carefully, or don't have water or tools nearby to put out a fire.
What Is Allowed (With Care):
- Small fire pits at least 25 feet from buildings or anything that can catch fire.
- BBQs or outdoor appliances that burn gas, pellets, wood, or charcoal.
- During the established state permitted discharge dates. Sparklers and fireworks that stay on the ground - only in safe, landscaped areas with someone watching and ready to put out a fire.
