MAYOR UPDATES: A group of kids from SSHS, headed by Jason Dorgun, cleaned up fallen branches in the park, and painted the curbing, parking lines, and disability signs for a service project was a great success.
The mayor would like to cut down the trees on the west side of the park that are lining the basketball court and the trees running east to west along the fence between the JCC and the church's piece. He said they are a safety hazard. He had a guy come give a quote and look at them. He told them it would cost $10,000, and he told him they needed to come down. The mayor said it would provide more viewing area for the fireworks on the 4th of July. He also would like to put a pickle ball court in that area and replant trees on the West side of the court. Gene motioned to cut the trees down, Troy 2nd the motion. The mayor was in favor, but Doug abstained. The decision for a pickle ball court was tabled.
WATER: Cameron Brown came to the meeting asking about parcel #2-J2-1 which they just bought. They are not asking for water meters. They want to subdivide it into four lots. They are not for sure if they will ever be built on. They are uncertain if the road that is running through it is a road easement. The council wants him to talk to Kelly to figure out where the property lines are and to discuss the road. The mayor will get in contact with Kelly also, and then contact Cameron.
Cory Lott bought parcel #2-J16-16. He is having a double wide home placed there in about 3 months. He would like a water meter. He has been talking with Kelly about where he can place his home and his septic tank and leach line because he is in the town's water protection zone. He also talked to Steve and is aware of the water line that runs through the back of his property. He is setting his house 100ft away from the line. He brought a map showing the placements. Doug made a motion to 'grant a water meter to the Lott's as long as the house plans are contingent with what he finds out with Kelly Crane and Ensign Engineering.' Gene seconded the motion.
Conner from Ensign came with an update on the Cold Springs development. A&D Jensen got started a couple weeks ago, and even got snowed out a couple of times. They have exposed all the water lines and decided where to run everything. They have the plumbing all set and walls poured. The pipe was going to be an 8', but they did a 4'. The Christensen's wanted it to be the same. It won't change the volume. They are planning on exposing another spring that was proposed next week. The box is set at the current spring.
MISC: Jed Maxwell came to the meeting to introduce himself as a candidate for Seat A County Commission. There is one other person running for this seat and it will be determined June 23rd.
Zac went over the Hazard Mitigation Plan and sent it out to the council. The Council said there were no issues. They said to send it to Tyler for him to go over it and get it in.
Troy motioned to adjourn the meeting Gene seconded it. All were in favor.
