PUBLIC NOTICE OF GRANT SOLICITATION AND NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING
REGARDING THE CITY'S INTENT TO APPLY FOR A GRANT FROM THE EDWARD BYRNE JUSTICE ASSITSTANCE GRANT ('JAG') PROGRAM
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that on the 7th day of July, 2026, at the hour of 6:30 p.m. of said day in the Council Chambers of Murray City Hall, 10 East 4800 South, Murray, Utah, the Murray City Municipal Council will hold and conduct a hearing on and pertaining to the City's intent to apply for a grant from the Edward Byrne Justice Assistance Grant Program (JAG).
The purpose of this hearing is to receive public comments concerning the proposed grant application. The JAG grant program allows states, tribes, and local governments to support a broad range of activities to prevent and control crime based on their own local needs and conditions. JAG funds can be used for state and local initiatives, technical assistance, training, personnel, equipment, supplies, contractual support, and information systems for criminal justice.
The Murray City Police Department is seeking financial assistance to use the JAG funds for the purchase the following police equipment: TASER 10 Devices.
The amount allocated to the City of Murray for this grant is $25,620.00.

Public comments can be made in person during the meeting on July 7, 2026. In addition, the city will accept public comments via email from June 5, 2026 until noon on July 7, 2026. Emailed public comments should include your name and contact information. Submitted comments will be included in the record and are limited to less than three (3) minutes. Comments should be submitted to: city.council@murray.utah.gov.

Notice of Electronic or Telephone Participation
Council Members may participate in the meeting via telephonic communication. If a Council Member does participate via telephonic communication, the Council Member will be on speaker phone. The speaker phone will be amplified so that the other Council Members and all other persons present in the Council Chambers will be able to hear all discussions.
Other Information
The Council meets the first and third Tuesday of each month. An annual meeting schedule is adopted and published in a newspaper of general circulation at the beginning of the year. Meeting agendas are also published on the City's website, as are approved
