The LBA is a financing tool for cities and government entities, like libraries, to bond for capital projects at better interest rates. Grant Application: DOT Improvement Program - Airport Taxiway Reconstruction The Council will accept public comment for a grant application request from the Salt Lake City International Airport to the Senator John Curtis Fiscal Year 2027 Congressionally Directed Spending Request. If awarded, the grant would fund the demolition and replacement of pavement on Salt Lake City International Airport Taxiway F and portions of Taxiway G, including pavement markings and the reinstallation of in-pavement centerline and taxiway edge lights, along with new underground cabling and connectors. Grant Application: Fiscal Year 2025 Edward Byrne Memorial Justice Assistance Grant - Local Formula The Council will accept public comment for a grant application request from the Police Department to the U.S. Department of Justice (DOJ), Office of Justice Programs, Bureau of Justice Assistance. If awarded, the grant would fund Real Time Crime Center (RTCC) expansion technology and equipment, as well as a subaward to Salt Lake County. If awarded, the grant period is four years, October 1, 2024 - September 30, 2028. Grant Application: Bureau of Reclamation Snow Water Supply Forecasting Program Fiscal Year 2026 The Council will accept public comment for a grant application request from the Department of Public Utilities to the U.S. Department of the Interior Bureau of Reclamation. If awarded, the grant would fund LiDAR flight technology to increase the accuracy of water supply forecasting for the Six Creeks Watershed. The grant would also fund a series of aerial LiDAR snowpack surveys of the City Creek, Emigration, Millcreek, Parleys, Red Butte, Big Cottonwood, and Little Cottonwood Canyons for the snow seasons falling between January 2027 and March 2029. Budget amendments happen several times each year to reflect adjustments to the City's budgets, including proposed project additions and modifications. The proposed amendment includes funding for new police officers, replacement of aging police patrol vehicles, the purchase of a transport van, and a pass-through of property tax revenue to the Salt Lake City Public Library, among other items. Ordinances relating to Fiscal Year 2026-27 City Budget, including the budget for the Library Fund The Council will accept public comment on one or more ordinances adopting the interim budget for Salt Lake City for Fiscal Year 2026-27, including the employment staffing document and the proposed property tax increase outlined in the Property Tax Impact Schedule. Salt Lake City is considering a tax rate adjustment exceeding the certified tax rate, including the impact of 12.5%, which would equate to $13,500,000 revenue for City services. The proposed increase will serve to support various services of the City, including but not limited to the City Departments of Fire, Public Lands, Justice Court, Attorney, Community & Neighborhoods, Sustainability, and adjustments to the Street Lighting Fund, Capital Improvement Projects Fund, and Fleet Centralized Maintenance fund, in addition to the arrangement between the City and the Legal Defender Association. Resolution: Fiscal Year 2026-27 Budget - Capital Improvement Program The Council will accept public comment and consider adopting a resolution for project funding allocations in the Capital Improvement Program (CIP), which involves the construction, purchase or renovation of buildings, parks, streets, or other City-owned physical structures. Generally, projects have a useful life of at least five years and cost $50,000 or more. Frequent service is a goal for buses to arrive at least every 15 minutes. This agreement covers the routes on 200 South, 900 South, 2100 South, and 1000 North. The interlocal agreement signed in 2018 is for twenty years, with a goal of full implementation of the FSN Routes as described in the City's Transit Master Plan.
