Objectives: At the end of this session, participants will be able to:
- Review recent Vineyard Cares programs, outreach efforts, and community engagement progress
- Finalize Vineyard Days support needs, assignments, and remaining logistics
- Discuss Commission and coalition recruitment needs, including secretary support
- Review prevention priorities, work group progress, grant updates and early FY27 planning needs
- Confirm key decisions, assignments, and next steps
1. Welcome, Attendance, and Meeting Overview
Brief welcome, attendance check, and overview of meeting priorities.
2. Review and Approval of Previous Minutes - Action Item
Review and approve minutes from the previous Commission and Coalition meetings.
3. Recent Events and Community Engagement Updates
Brief review of recent Vineyard Cares activities and outreach efforts, including Teen Prevention
Night, DEA Take Back Day, Standout Film Night, Key Leader Dinner, Day with the Deputy,
Sticker Contest, and community engagement updates.
4. Vineyard Days Final Planning and Commission Support
Review final Vineyard Days logistics, remaining needs, assignments, and Commission support
roles.
Topics include:
- June 5 Vineyard Cares Community Block Party schedule, layout, activity flow, vendors,
and operations
- Volunteer coverage, Commission assignments, setup, food support, booth coverage,
activity support, cleanup, and general event support
- Materials, signage, scavenger hunt, giveaways, raffle items, printed items, and supplies
- Info booth/resource table coverage and Vineyard Cares outreach messaging and
promotion
Decisions/action items needed:
- Confirm June 5 support assignments
- Identify remaining volunteer gaps and support needs
- Confirm remaining materials, signage, scavenger hunt, and supply needs
- Confirm feasible event scope based on available volunteer coverage
5. Parade and Additional Vineyard Days Booth Participation
Discussion and confirmation of Vineyard Cares participation in Vineyard Days activities beyond
the June 5 Community Block Party.
Topics include:
- Parade participation on Saturday, June 6
- Booth participation and coverage for Tuesday, June 2 evening; Thursday, June 4 evening;
and Saturday, June 6 daytime
- Volunteers, handouts, staging, communication, and supply needs
Decisions/action items needed:
- Confirm whether Vineyard Cares will staff booths on June 2, June 4, and June 6
- Confirm parade participation plan and day-of point person
- Assign remaining preparation tasks
6. Commission Recruitment, Secretary Support, and Coalition Growth
Discussion of current Commission and coalition recruitment needs.
Topics include:
- Need for two new Commission members
- Appreciation for outgoing secretary
- Secretary support through the end of the calendar year
- Commission and coalition recruitment challenges
- Potential candidates, sectors, partners, or community voices to invite
- Strategies for strengthening member involvement
Decisions/action items needed:
- Identify possible Commission member candidates
- Discuss interim secretary coverage
- Determine next steps for Commission and coalition recruitment
7. New SHARP Data, Training, and Work Group Updates
Brief review of key SHARP data themes, June QPR certification opportunity, and current work
group progress.
Topics include:
- Key SHARP data themes and connection to current prevention priorities
- July-October planning considerations connected to SHARP and community needs
- June QPR certification opportunity carried over from the May coalition meeting
- Recruitment, coalition development, SHARP data review, and community assessment
work currently in progress

8. End-of-Year Budget Review and July-October/FY27 Planning
Review current budget status, remaining FY26 needs, and early FY27 planning priorities.
Topics include:
- End-of-year budget status
- Remaining expenses and grant spending
- County grant updates, including EMOD and CTC funding
- Preliminary July-October priorities
Potential July-October priorities:
- Back-to-school outreach or event participation, August
- Family dinner/Family month prevention campaign event, September 21 or 28
- National Suicide Prevention Month outreach and messaging, September
- Red Ribbon Week support at Vineyard Elementary and charter schools, October
- Booth participation at Boo-palooza, October
- Guiding Good Choices 6 week series, October/November
- Coalition recruitment and onboarding
- SHARP/community assessment work
- Parent and family engagement strategies
- Partner follow-up from Key Leader Dinner
- Fall event/program planning

- Determine which items need Commission support
