4. STATEMENT REQUIRED BY UTAH CODE 59-2-919(4)(b)(i)
This Agenda item is intended to demonstrate Fielding Town's compliance with Utah Code 59-2-919(4)(b)(i) with the statement as follows:
Fielding Town gives notice that:
A. As a fiscal year taxing entity Fielding Town is considering levying a tax rate that exceeds the fiscal year taxing entity's certified tax rate; and
B. the approximate dollar amount of and purpose for additional ad valorem tax revenue that would be generated by the proposed tax rate increase described in (A) is as follows:
1. $30,000
2. To provide funding for various town positions, park improvements, and possible future new building expenses
C. The approximate percentage increase in ad valorem tax revenue for the fiscal year taxing entity based on the proposed tax rate increase described in Subsection (A) is 100%, and
D. That if the fiscal year taxing entity proceeds with the proposed tax rate increase, the fiscal year taxing entity will provide notice of and conduct a public hearing, as required by Subsection (4)(c), at which members of the public will have an opportunity to provide comments on the proposed tax rate increase in compliance with the notice requirements of 59-2-919(6)(b); and
1. The public hearing is scheduled for August 12, 2026, at 6:30 PM in the Fielding Town Hall, 150 S 100 W, Fielding. Utah.
5. PUBLIC HEARING - FISCAL YEAR 2026-2027 INTERIM BUDGET - Will be in effect July 1, 2026 until the final budget is approved.
A. Tax Revenue Increase - With this proposed tax revenue increase, the Fielding Town total annual revenue amount would be $30,000; an increase of 100% from the
current $15,000.
B. Property Tax Impact Schedule attached to this agenda.
C. Department budget increases
1) CLERK Compensation - increase $12,000 including $5,000 from tax revenue increase
2) Park Improvements - increase $5,000 from tax revenue increase
3) Capital Projects - increase $5,000 from tax revenue increase (land purchase costs)
4) All other departments
6. Public Comments - this is time to address the Council with any questions or concerns.
