PUBLIC NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Mantua Town Council, Utah, will hold its REVIEW OF MANTUA 2026-2027 PROPOSED ADOPTED BUDGET in person at Mantua Town Hall, located at 409 North Main St., Mantua, Utah, for the purposes and at the times described below on Thursday, May 21, 2026.
1. CALL TO ORDER
a. Roll Call
2. OVERVIEW OF MANTUA 2026-2027 PROPOSED ADOPTED BUDGET
Led by the Financial Clerk, Ronald Wallace.
a. Comparative Review: A detailed analysis comparing current actual revenues and expenditures against the previous year's budget to identify trends.
b. Variance Summary: Identification of significant budget deviations that require formal adjustments.
3. DETAILED FUND AND LINE-ITEM REVIEWS
General Fund Review: Discussion of departmental spending, including:
a. Public Works & Parks: Oversight of maintenance, recreation projects, and preventative measures for overspending.
b. Planning & Zoning: Review of administrative costs and impact fee revenues.
c. Public Safety and Court Budgets:
o Police revenue, personnel concerns, and operations review led by Cade Palmer and Cade Brenchley.
o Court budget, judicial operations, and administrative review led by Anne Hansen and Jim Peters.
Enterprise & Utility Funds: Focused discussion on self-sustaining services:
a. Water Fund: Specific explanations for variances.
b. Sewer Fund: Review of maintenance schedules and fee increases to offset costs from regional providers.
c. Garbage/Waste Management: Status updates on current waste contracts and necessary adjustments.
4. REVENUE & CAPITAL PLANNING
a. Revenue Trend Analysis: Evaluation of property tax, sales tax, and intergovernmental grants.
b. Capital Improvement Projects: Updates on major infrastructure.
5. PUBLIC COMMENT ON 2026-2027 PROPOSED ADOPTED BUDGET
Per Utah Code, the Council will receive input only; no decisions can be made on public comments. Time limits are at the discretion of the mayor.
