Instructional Materials Open House May 19, 2026 6:00 PM - 7: 00 PM OPEN HOUSE FORMAT: Presenters will take up to 25 minutes to provide an overview of the requested material(s). Participants can ask clarifying questions throughout the presentation via the chat function on Zoom. Only participants who have students within the Davis School District will be allowed to provide comments. Participants wishing to provide comments can make the request within the chat. In the chat, the commenter should provide their child's school. They will then be unmuted to provide 2-minute comment. Items or topics not on the agenda will not be discussed or covered. Instructional Materials: 'Instructional Materials' are the learning materials adopted by the board for use by educators in the teaching of District DESK Standards for specific grade levels and courses. This does not include material used in concurrent enrollment, advanced placement, or international baccalaureate programs or any other class with required material that is not subject to selection by the board. (4I-200 § 2.1). World Language Adoption - This is School for Spanish, French, German, and Chinese. Parents were provided opportunities to participate in the adoption process in a variety of ways including: Those who had volunteered to serve on a committee using the District Volunteer Form. Opened to families in DLI and families currently taking a course in a language. Opened it to all parents throughout the district. This provided us with about 70 parents who showed interest. Parents were randomly chosen from a pool. We ensured parents who spoke or had learned a language were represented in the process. Started with 12 parents Ended with 10 parents Teachers were given opportunities to submit an interest form to participate in the adoption process. Ensured all languages had representation. Started with 12 teachers. Ended with 11 teachers Top three products were: This is School Wayside Publishing Lingco This is School was the top scorer which included the cost associated with the adoption. This is School was chosen due to teacher usability, effective resources, and easy to implement activities and lessons.
