NOTICE OF
PUBLIC HEARING
Notice is hereby given that a Public Hearing will be held Wednesday, May 13, 2026 at 1:15 PM in the Rich County Courthouse, 20 S. Main Street in Randolph. The Rich County Board of Commissioners is considering amending its development code to make asphalt manufacturing a conditional use in agricultural zones. A copy of a proposed ordinance can be obtained by contacting the Rich County Clerk, Anneliesa Peart at (435) 793-2415.
The County's current development code allows gravel pits to operate in agricultural zones as a conditional use (meaning that the use must first be approved by Planning & Zoning). The current code does not allow gravel pits to process asphalt in an agricultural zone. The proposal would make both uses conditional.
The Board of Commissioners is soliciting the public's comments on the proposed ordinance. Those attending the hearing will be invited to provide their input. Those wishing to comment, but who are unable to attend the hearing may also submit written comments to the Rich County Clerk prior to the hearing.
