Cannonville Town Council Meeting Minutes APRIL 2026 Cannonvillle town held their regular Monthly Board Meeting Wednesday, April 15, 2026, in the town Hall. The meeting began at 7:15pm. Public in Attendance: Cherie Scoffield, Anita Fletcher, Mark Nelson, Valarie Ott, Pete Jensen, Sue & John Bell, Myriah & Marshall Thompson, Austin Thompson, Crystal Thompson, Hiromi & Eric McDonald, Emilee & Dallas Clark, Arjean Ivie, Holly & Troy Willis, Chelsea Nielson, Alania LeFevre, Janice & Cole Twitchell, Katie Beasley Board Members: Stewart Ivie, Alma Fletcher, Landyn Brinkerhoff, Mayor Bill Scoffield, Davis Kendrick, & Machele Nelson, clerk. Prayer: Stewart Ivie Pledge: Landyn Brinkerhoff Reading and Approval of Agenda: The agenda was reviewed and adopted. Motion by Davis Kendrick, 2nd by Landyn Brinkerhoff, all were in favor. Reading and Approval of minutes: March 18th, 2026, town council meeting minutes were read, reviewed, and approved. No Changes. Motion to approve was by Davis Kendrick, 2nd by Alma Fletcher, all were in favor. Mayor's Items: Mayor Scoffield welcomed everybody to the April 2026 meeting. The Republican caucus in tonight. Our rep, Mr. Davis Kendrick has been excused to be with us. Check the bulletin board for newsletters, SCADA installation schedule, among other items of interest. Mayor Scoffield attended the Utah City Planners conference last week. Presenters highlighted many aspects of town and city planning that have been updated, city council actions supporting town ordinances, and other legal and administrative concerns. Additionally, he mentioned that there was nothing new to report from the FA+R development team, SITLA, or the State Park folks about Promise Rock. Departmental Reports: Fire: Nothing to report. Fire restrictions are to be expected again this year as well. Public: Cherie Scoffield highlighted the AM250 party 'Let Freedom Ring' that is scheduled for the morning of May 23rd, Memorial Day weekend. The breakfast and festivities will begin at 9am. Planning: Mr. Pete Jensen reported that the planning commission met and discussed the new Zoning Ordinance in public forum preceding the Town Council. After a spirited discussion with several members of the community, it was decided additional time would be necessary to understand the wording and make additional changes as necessary. Additionally, Pete noted that The Wander Dry Camper folks are working a new plan for additional units. Water, access, and a UDOT consultation would needed to be completed before moving forward. Concept seemed workable, however. Water: Alma Fletcher reported that the galvanized couplers are still being replaced. He figured they were 70% complete. With Mark, the Sunrise Engineer, Alma & the mayor reviewed the SCADA drawings this past week. Some changes were recommended. Additionally, the engineer toured the well and spring house. Alma mentioned the cattails were successfully burned off with the help of Henrieville Fire Department as safety observers. Mr. Cole Twichell highlight we'll be having a tough water year and pleaded for folks to conserve both culinary and irrigation water. Parks: The kitchen sheet metal upgrades and modifications are complete. Thanks to everyone, Mr John & Suzie Bell, Mr. Pete Jensen, andfor your expertise. Earth Day cleanup will be Saturday, April 25th, beginning at 8:30 am. Lunch will be served. Roads: Mr. Landyn Brinkerhoff made us aware that the county charges $30K/mile to chipseal our roads. That remains a possibility this summer for some of the town roads. Street signs still need to be installed. Clerk: Machelle Nelson presented March financials for review. A billing due date discrepancy has been identified and has been fixed in Pelorus. Adjourned: 7:46 pm; next meeting May 20, 2026, 7pm; motion to adjourn by Stewart Ivie, 2nd by Davis Kendrick; all approved.
