1. 01-15-2026 - Historical Preservation Committee Meeting Minutes
NEW BUSINESS
2. Welcome and Swearing in New Board Member Erik Butters
3. Election of a Committee Chair
4. Future Historic Book Options:
a. Committee is taking a break now from a new book but interested in a future edition.
b. New Director, Kami Ellsworth, will be directed to look for funding options for $2,000 to
print another book in the next 18 months. CLG grant and City funding are the two best
options
c. Discussed different locations and options for another book. Will add those to existing
list that Committee Member Davis has started.
d. Will get the group together in a future work meeting to start work again.
5. My Home Town Santaquin
a. My Home Town Santaquin is a service organization new-ish in Santaquin. This group
might be willing to provide service for the Hudson Home, which is one of the older homes
in Santaquin. Committee member Mitchell report on efforts made with My Home Town to
get on the list for future service projects.
b. Discuss Mayor Olson's efforts on Hudson Home.
6. Continue discussion of providing plaques at various historic locations that are either still
standing or are no longer standing. Permission from homeowners would need to be secured
and a contract MOU created by City Attorney. Different designs and prices were discussed.
a. Discuss example of Story Walk plaques in Payson. Would like something more
permanent that is sealed closed for weather.
b. Discussed using the example of trail signs at Prospector view. They could be designed
very nice and it is more affordable. Pictures example of trail signs.
7. America 250 Celebration will take place in 2026. Committee Member Davis and staff
member(s) report on efforts being made. City Council has passed a resolution and the
America 250 planning Committee will have at least $1500 to use from a State Grant.
