NOTICE OF CERTIFICATION OF ANNEXATION PETITION
Pursuant to Utah Code 10-2-807(2)(c)(i) and 10-2-808, the City of Hyde Park, Utah, hereby provides notice as follows:
1. On January 29, 2026, a petition proposing the annexation of real property encompassing approximately 183.8 acres was filed with the City of Hyde Park by Mark F James and Rebekah Nielsen.
2. On February 25, 2026, the Hyde Park City Council accepted the Petition to be further considered and authorized the Petition to be certified by City Staff. Amendments were made to the petition and approved by city attorney and cache county.
3. On April 13, 2026, City Staff certified that the Petition meets the requirements of Utah State Law and notice was provided to the Hyde Park City Council, the contact sponsors, and the Cache County Commission.
4. The 183.8-acre area proposed for annexation in the petition shown on the attached map and includes the following parcels.

5. The complete Annexation Petition is available for inspection and copying at the Hyde Park City Office, 113 East Center, Hyde Park, Utah, Monday through Thursday during regular business hours.
6. The City of Hyde Park may grant the Petition and annex the above-described area unless a written protest to the Annexation Petition is filed with:

A copy of the protest must also be delivered to the Hyde Park City Recorder at the address noted above on the same date that the protest is filed with the Cache County Boundary Commission.
A protest to this annexation may be filed by the governing body of an affected entity or an owner of rural real property located within the area proposed for annexation. To file a protest, submit a written statement that states each reason and justification including relevant documentation. Provide the name and mailing address of a contact person to receive notice from the County Clerk.
Any protest must be filed no later than May 14, 2026.
7. If no lawful protest is received, the Hye Park City Council will hold a public hearing on May 27, 2026, at 7:00 p.m. in the Hyde Park City Council Chambers located at 113 East Center, Hyde Park, UT to consider the request to annex this property.
8. The area proposed for annexation to the City of Hyde Park will also be annexed to have Hyde Park City provide water, garbage and sewer services, Smithfield City provide fire services, and the North Park Police Department provide law enforcement services.
