Regarding EPA Brownfield Cleanup Grant Funds
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that Salt Lake City Corporation will hold a virtual public hearing on April 28, 2026 at 6:00 p.m. MDT at the following link (https://teams.microsoft.com/meet/27601644323567?p=jAFv6GG8H7YLT7uSgp, Meeting ID: 276 016 443 235 67, Passcode: cz6LU7xt) to provide interested parties an opportunity to express their views on the federally funded Brownfield Cleanup Grant project.
On or about May 7, 2026, Salt Lake City Corporation intends to commence implementation of an Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) Brownfields Cleanup grant and a Remedial Action Plan at a property located at 22 South Jeremy Street, Salt Lake City, Utah (site). The remediation activities are funded EPA Brownfield Cleanup grant. Past uses of the property have resulted in releases of chlorinated and non-chlorinated volatile organic compounds (VOCs) and metals that have impacted portions of the property. Salt Lake City Corporation proposes to repurpose the property for retail or light industrial use, utilizing the current building, to support rehabilitation of the Folsom Avenue corridor as a public space and development corridor. These funds are to be used for the cleanup of environmental impacts from the site's former commercial and industrial uses, as well as other associated costs. Salt Lake City Corporation encourages citizens, business owners, and other interested stakeholders to attend the April 28, 2026 virtual meeting to ask questions and provide feedback regarding the plans for the cleanup and reuse of the property.
