The State of Utah DHHS and Local Public Health Governance Committee Meeting Approve Minutes: March 16th, 2026 Grant Title Executive Committee Review Description Advancing Asthma Control through EXHALE Strategies Funding Period: 9/1/26-8/31/27 Dollar Amount: $520,228 Application Due: 4/20/26 Grant Status Needs Review This grant application was reviewed by HPAP Exec on April 2nd, 2026, and received a favorable recommendation. Grant Purpose - This grant is intended to improve health outcomes for people with asthma through increased community partnerships and multi-component approaches to care based on a technical package known as EXHALE. Grant Title Executive Committee Review Description WIC OA Funding Funding Period: 10/1/25-9/30/26 Dollar Amount: $2,200,000 Application Due: N/A Grant Status Needs Review This grant application was reviewed by the Individual Public Health Services Exec Committee and received unanimous approval for the proposed distribution of funds. WIC supplemental funding distributed to Local Health Departments. Other Agenda Items: Other Agenda Topic Discussion Includes Notes Exempt Grants (These grants have been submitted to the Governance website, within the past two weeks, as exempt. We would like the Governance committee to confirm this designation before moving forward) Grant Name Application Due Description Improving Timely Documentation, Reporting, and Analysis of Diagnostic and Intervention Data through Optimization of EHDI Surveillance Practices and Information Systems 4/9/2026 This is one-year cost extension. The purpose of this project is to advance the capacity of the EHDI-Information System (IS) to actively track infants to ensure they receive essential screening, diagnostic, and intervention services by optimizing the existing EHDI-IS and expanding the state's ability to report, analyze, and use patient-level data. The Sudden Unexpected Infant Death (SUID) and Sudden Death in the Young (SDY) Case Registry This grant application was reviewed by HPAP Exec on April 2nd, 2026, and received a favorable recommendation as 'exempt'.
