NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING Notice is hereby given that a Public Hearing will be held Wednesday, April 8, 2026 at 10:30 a.m. in the Rich County Courthouse, 20 S. Main Street in Randolph. The Rich County Board of Commissioners is considering an interlocal agreement with the Rich County School District to provide a school resource officer to rotate through the District's three public school campuses. A copy of a proposed agreement can be obtained by contacting the Rich County Clerk, Anneliesa Peart at (435) 793-2415. Utah Code§ 53G-8-701.5 (2025) requires public school districts to conduct their own individual threat assessments and then to decide how to best provide for their students' safety. Utah Code section 53G-8-703 allows public school districts to contract with local law enforcement for a school resource officer to be placed in the school. The Rich County School District and Rich County are considering such an arrangement. The Board of Commissioners is soliciting the public's comments on the proposed agreement. Those attending the hearing will be invited to provide their input. Those wishing to comment, but who are unable to attend the hearing may also submit written comments to the Rich County Clerk prior to the hearing.
