NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING
2026 Annual Action Plan
The City of West Jordan (City) is initiating a 30-day public comment period and announcing the second public hearing for obtaining public input for the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development's (HUD) PY 2026 Annual Action Plan.
The Annual Action Plan identifies and prioritizes the City's affordable housing, community and economic development needs that guides the use of it's anticipated and estimated allocation of $491,304 in Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) funds for Program Year 2026. This estimate is based on the City's PY2025 CDBG Allocation. The first public hearing was held on March 10, 2026 at City Hall.
The City's 2026 Annual Action Plan proposes allocating CDBG funds to the following priorities:
Priority 1: Provide Decent, Safe Affordable Housing
Amount: $225,480
Goal: 45%
Priority 2: Provide Neighborhood Improvements
Amount: $30,000
Goal: 6%
Priority 3: Provide Public Services for Low-Income and Special Needs
Populations
Amount: $73,695
Goal: 15%
Priority 4: Provide Economic Development Opportunities
Amount: $63,869
Goal: 13%
Administration & Oversight
Amount: $98,260
The 2026 Annual Action Plan priority budgets will be proportionally increased or decreased from the estimated funding levels to match actual CDBG allocation amount.

The West Jordan community is encouraged to participate in the following ways:
I.Attend Public Hearing #2
The City of West Jordan will hold a public hearing at the regular City Council meeting starting at 7:00p.m. on Tuesday, April 28, 2026, at the City Council Chambers, located on the 3rd Floor of the City Hall Building at 8000 South Redwood Road, West Jordan, UT. The purpose of the meeting is to obtain residents' views and to respond to proposals and questions regarding housing and community development needs, development of proposed activities, proposed strategies and actions for affirmatively furthering fair housing and a review of program performance. The following items will be discussed at the hearing:
A. PY 2026 Annual Action Plan
All residents, particularly low- and moderate-income persons and residents of slum and blighted areas of the City of West Jordan are encouraged to attend this meeting.
In accordance with the Americans with Disabilities Act, the City of West Jordan will make reasonable accommodations for participation in the meeting. Request for assistance can be made by contacting the Community Development Block Grant Office at 801-569-5182, providing at least three working days advance notice of the meeting. TTY 711.

II.30-Day Public Comment Period
West Jordan community can submit comments on community needs via email to Tayler Jensen at WJPlanning@westjordan.utah.gov or in writing to City of West Jordan Community Development Department - Block Grants Division, Attention: CDBG Coordinator, 8000 S. Redwood Rd., West Jordan, UT 84088.
All comments and views received in writing, or orally at public hearings will be considered in preparing the final consolidated plan, annual action plan, and Citizen Participation Plan. Furthermore, a summary of the comments and views, along with a summary of any comments and views not accepted and the reasons why, will be included in the citizen participation records for the associated item.
