NOTICE OF ANNEXATION PETITION
Notice is hereby given that a petition has been filed with Koosharem Town proposing the annexation of certain real property into the municipality.
Date of Certification: March 17, 2026
Description of Proposed Annexation Area: The area proposed for annexation is described as follows:
BEGINNING AT THE EAST QUARTER CORNER OF SECTION 27, TOWNSHIP 26 SOUTH, RANGE 1 WEST, SALTLAKE BASE AND MERIDIAN, SAID POINT BEING LOCATED ON THE EXISTING KOOSHAREM TOWN BOUNDARY ACCORDING TO THE SORENSON TRUSTEES ANNEXATION PLAT ENTRY NO. 295406 AND ALSO TO THE ANNEXATION PLAT FOR KOOSHAREM TOWN ENTRY NO. 296592 AS FOUND IN THE OFFICE OF THE SEVIER COUNTY RECORDER;THENCE ALONG SAID KOOSHAREM TOWN BOUNDARY ACCORDING TO SAID ANNEXATION PLAT ENTRY NO.295406, THE EAST LINE OF SAID SECTION 27, AND THE EAST BOUNDARY LINES OF PARCEL 5-117-8 ACCORDING TO ENTRY NO. 438686 AND PARCEL 5-117-3 ACCORDING TO ENTRY NO. 427635, S 00°04'44' E 1332.79 FEET TO THE SOUTHEAST CORNER OF SAID PARCEL 5-117-3 AND THE EXISTING KOOSHAREM TOWN BOUNDARY ACCORDING TO MAP OF GRASS VALLEY BY ANTON NIELSEN, DATED NOV. 1ST. 1914 FILE A-601 AS FOUND IN THE OFFICE OF THE SEVIERCOUNTY RECORDER;THENCE ALONG SAID KOOSHAREM TOWN BOUNDARY ACCORDING TO FILE A-601, AND THE SOUTHBOUNDARY LINE OF SAID PARCEL 5-117-3, N 89°25'11' W 567.07 FEET TO A CORNER OF SAID PARCEL 5-117-3;THENCE ALONG THE BOUNDARY AND THE BOUNDARY EXTENDED OF SAID PARCEL 5-117-3 AND ALONG THE WEST BOUNDARY OF SAID PARCEL 5-117-8, N 00°16'34' E 1333.62 FEET TO THE NORTHWEST CORNER OF SAID PARCEL 5-117-8, SAID POINT LYING ON THE QUARTER SECTION LINE OF SAID SECTION 27;THENCE N 00°16'34' E 378.97 FEET;THENCE S 89°19'30' E 556.48 FEET TO A POINT LYING ON SAID EXISTING KOOSHAREM TOWN BOUNDARY ACCORDING TO ENTRY NO. 296592 AND THE EAST LINE OF SAID SECTION 27;THENCE ALONG SAID EXISTING KOOSHAREM TOWN BOUNDARY ACCORDING TO ENTRY NO. 296592 AND THE EAST LINE OF SAID SECTION 27, S 00°04'37' E 378.97 FEET TO THE POINT OF BEGINNING.CONTAINING 22.080 ACRES MORE OR LESS.

IMPORTANT NOTICE:
Unless a written protest to the annexation petition is filed within 30 days after the date of certification, the municipality may grant the petition and annex the area described in the petition.
To be valid, a written protest to the annexation petition must:
Be filed with the Sevier County Planning and Zoning Office no later than April 17, 2026; and
A copy of the written protest must be delivered to the Koosharem Town Records Officer at the address listed above.

Special District Annexation or Withdrawal Notice: If the area proposed for annexation is not in a special district for fire, paramedic, or law enforcement services-but the annexing municipality is-the area will be automatically annexed into that district. If the area is in such a district but the municipality is not, it will be automatically withdrawn, per Utah Code §§ 17B-1-416 and 17B-1-502(2).
