Public Notice of City Council Vacancy and Intent to fill a Spring City Council Member Vacancy This is formal notice that the Spring City Council intends to fill a Council vacancy caused by the recent resignation of Council member Courtney Syme. Pursuant to Utah Code 20A-1-510, this notice is posted until April 2, 2026, at City Hall, Spring City Post Office, Main Street bulletin board, the Utah Public Access website, and the city website, inviting all interested and qualified parties to apply for this vacancy. To qualify for this vacancy, you must file a declaration of candidacy and conflict of interest disclosure statement, which can be obtained from the City Recorder, during normal office hours 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., Monday - Thursday, at City Hall. A copy can be found on our city website at springcityutah.gov under Elections - Midterm. Candidates must meet the qualifications of Section 10-3-301 of Utah Code: - U.S. Citizen - Registered voter of Spring City - A Resident of the City for the past 365 days - Not being a convicted felon, unless the right to hold elective office has been restored Please submit a one-page cover letter expressing your desire to serve and copy of a current resume to: City Recorder, Attn: Council Application, 45 South 100 East, Spring City, Utah, 84662. A declaration of candidacy, conflict of interest disclosure statement, and any related materials you wish to submit must be physically received by the City Recorder between March 25, 2026 and no later than 5:00 PM on March 31, 2026. Please note that if you need to submit your paperwork between 8:00 AM and 9:00 AM and 4:00 PM and 5:00 PM or on a Friday, please call the office, 435-462-2244 ext. 3, during office hours to schedule an appointment with the Recorder. Also, be advised that whoever is selected will be appointed through December 31, 2027. If they wish to serve after that point, they will be required to file in the municipal general election during the candidate filing period in 2027. The Spring City Council will meet at 7:00 PM on Thursday April 2, 2026. In the Council meeting a brief presentation from the applicants will be given. In the same meeting a vote to fill the vacancy of a City Council Member to serve through December 31, 2027, will be held.
