SUMMARY OF MUNICIPAL CODE CHANGES
To Titles 10

On March 5, 2026 in City Council Meeting Ordinance 2026-03 was considered by the City Council and voted to approve the ordinance that amends Titles 10 as previously posted with one amendment to change a misspelled word in 10-6D-4. A public hearing regarding the proposed Municipal Code change was held previously on February 24, 2026.
An overview of the changes to current Spring City Municipal Code within Ordinance 2026-03 is as follows:
Summary of the proposed changes are as follows:
Title 10
Chapter 10-1-3 DEFINITIONS: of GUESTHOUSE; amended to allow no single floor to
have more than six hundred and fifty (650) habitable square feet.
Chapter 10-1-3 DEFINITIONS: removed the PROTECTED HISTORIC ZONE
Chapter 10-1-3 DEFINITIONS: of SUBDIVISION; Removed language of a Protected Historic Zone.
Chapter 10-6A-3 CONDITIONAL USES: amended language to allow no single floor to
have more than six hundred and fifty (650) habitable square feet.
Chapter 10-6A-4 LOT AND DWELLING SIZE REQUIREMENTS: Removed language
of a Protected Historic Zone and increased minimum buildable lot size to 1.06 acres.
Chapter 10-6A-6 LOCATION REQUIREMENTS: removed frontage requirements for .5
acre lots.
Chapter 10-6D-2 PERMITTED USE: Reduced the number of multi-family (MF) units per lot and reduced the percentage of multifamily units to not more than 3% MF units to single family dwellings.
Chapter 10-6D-4 LOT AND DWELLING SIZE REQUIREMENTS: Removed language of a Protected Historic Zone and increased minimum buildable lot size to 1.06 acres for multi-family dwellings.
Chapter 10-6D-6 LOCATION REQUIREMENTS: removed minimum frontage requirement for lot size of .5 acres and allows proportionately less frontage for lots smaller than 1.06 acres that have been previously split and are grandfathered.
