NOTICE OF VACANCY - Southwest Mosquito Abatement
Virgin Town hereby gives notice that a vacancy exists on the Board of Trustees for the Southwest Mosquito Abatement.
Position to be Filled:
One (1) position on the Southwest Mosquito Abatement Board of Trustees.
Term of Office:
The appointed individual will serve a four-year term beginning April 21, 2026 and ending on January 1, 2030, or until a successor is appointed and qualified.
Qualifications:
Applicants must meet the following qualifications:
- Be a registered voter residing within the boundaries of the Virgin Town.
- Meet all statutory qualifications required to serve as a board member of a special district under applicable Utah law.
- Be willing to attend regular and special board meetings and perform the duties of the office.
Appointment Procedure:
Virgin Town will review all qualified applicants and make the appointment in a public meeting in compliance with the Utah Open and Public Meetings Act. Interested persons may be heard at the meeting prior to the appointment. The appointment will be made by resolution of the appointing authority.
If no candidate receives a majority vote of the appointing authority, the appointment will be determined by lot between the two candidates receiving the highest number of votes, as provided by Utah law.
