Utah Public Notice
Salt Lake Community College--Board of Trustees
Notice of Public Hearing
Notice Date & Time: 3/11/26 9:00 AM
NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING
The Salt Lake Community College Board of Trustees will conduct a Public Hearing to discuss proposed tuition and general student fee increases and course fees for the coming academic year. The College anticipates a tuition increase in the range of 2-2.5% for students pursuing an associate degree or for transfer to another degree-granting institution. The recommended increase covers the portion of tuition to cover the cost of state-mandated insurance, and the approved compensation and health insurance increases allocated by the legislature. The amount of the increase depends on the budgetary outlook and funding from the state legislature.
The College is also recommending a $5 per credit hour increase for the Salt Lake Technical College programs. This helps cover the rising cost of consumables in our technical education programs. In addition, the College is recommending a $100 increase in differential tuition for the Commercial Driver's License program. This will help fund an additional faculty to help cover demand for the program.
The Public Hearing is scheduled to take place during the Board of Trustees meeting that begins at 9:00 a.m. at the Salt Lake Community College Taylorsville/Redwood Campus, 4600 South Redwood Road, Taylorsville, Utah in Room AAB 428 on Wednesday, March 11, 2026.
All concerned students and citizens are invited to attend.
