NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING Wasatch Front Waste and Recycling District (WFWRD) Proposed 2026 Mid-Year Fee Schedule The Board of Trustees of Wasatch Front Waste and Recycling District hereby gives notice of its Proposed 2026 Mid-Year Fee Schedule Public Hearing. Mid-Year Fee Schedule adjustments are proposed to add new opt-in residential services, establish assessment fees for prohibited materials, and normalize rates for equivalent service types. Base residential service rates are not increasing. If adopted, the mid-year fee schedule will be effective April 1, 2026. Date: Monday, March 23, 2026 Time: 6:00 p.m. Place: WFWRD Offices located at 604 West 6960 South, Midvale Utah 84047. This meeting will also be held electronically via Webex. https://slco.webex.com/slco/j.php?MTID=m574487f1195ee605cd15b2f1c026c62d Meeting Number (Access Code): 2486 638 2040; Password: rsRmJMWZ328 Wasatch Front Waste and Recycling District: - Intends to add the following Residential Only Specialty Curbside Collection Services by request, subject to availability and geographic location: o Pickup Service (per household) - Valley, In-District: $20.00 o Pickup Service (per household) - Canyon Communities, In-District: $30.00 o Pickup Service (per household) - Valley, Out-of-District: $40.00 o Tires (each): $5.00 o Tires on Rim (each):$6.00 o Mattresses (per piece): $20.00 o Freon Containing Appliances (each): $25.00 o Non-Freon Containing Appliances (each): $10.00 o Extra Can Pick-up: $25.00 - Intends to establish Prohibited Materials Assessment Fees as part of the residential Seasonal Container Reservation Program (SCRP): o Tires (per tire): $10.00 o Freon-Containing Appliances (per unit): $50.00 o Hazardous or Toxic Materials: Cost + 15% o Other Prohibited Materials: Cost + 15% o Commercial, Contractor, or Industrial Generated Waste: $400.00 per container - Intends to round down the cents on Special Service Accounts for 4-Yard Front Load Container Garbage Services: o 2 Tips per Week (8 each month): from $215.21 to $215.20 per month o 3 Tips per Week (12 each month): from $322.81 to $322.80 per month o 4 Tips per Week (16 each month): from $430.42 to $430.40 per month o 5 Tips per Week (20 each month): from $538.02 to $538.00 per month - Intends to reduce the fees for Side Load Special Service Accounts: o Garbage Can: Weekly service from $26.00 to $19.50 per month o Recycling Can: Weekly service from $19.00 to $15.50 per month o Additional Recycling Can (each can): Weekly service from $12.00 to $10.00 per month - Intends to normalize the fees for Special Clean-up Services for Municipalities: o Mattresses (per piece): $20.00 o Freon Containing Appliances (air conditioners, refrigerators) [each]: $25.00 o Tires (each): $5.00 o Tires on Rim (each): $6.00 For specific details on the Proposed 2026 Mid-Year Fee Schedule, visit: https://wfwrdutah.gov/about/our-board-trustees. Documents will also be made available for public inspection at WFWRD's Office during regular hours, Monday through Friday from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Public comments on WFWRD's Proposed 2026 Mid-Year Fee Schedule may be emailed to cgarcia@wfwrdutah.gov by Monday, March 23rd at 9:00 a.m. and will be read at the Public Hearing. WFWRD will also receive public comments as follows: During the Public Hearing, all interested persons in attendance in person and on-line will be given an opportunity to be heard regarding WFWRD's Proposed 2026 Mid-Year Fee Schedule.
