NOTICE OF INTENT TO FILE AN APPLICATION WITH USDA RURAL DEVELOPMENT Notice is hereby given that the City of Mt. Pleasant intends to file an application with the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA), Rural Development, for financial assistance. The city was awarded a $1,000,000 grant through the Community Project Funding Grant Program to construct a new 500,000-gallon concrete culinary water storage tank and related piping and appurtenances to meet current needs and accommodate anticipated future growth. The grant requires matching funds of twenty-five percent (25%), and the total project cost will require additional funding beyond the required match. The City intends to apply to USDA Rural Development to secure the additional funds needed to complete the project. Completion of this project will allow the city to resume permitting further development and additional connections to the public water system. The public is invited to consult with USDA Rural Development regarding any concerns about environmental resources that may be affected by the proposed project.
