NOTICE TO THE PUBLIC OF DE MINIMIS FINDING; UTAH DEPARTMENT OF TRANSPORTATION ON PROPOSED F-R499(518), PIN 22669, FOUNTAIN GREEN SAFE ROUTES TO SCHOOL
Fountain Green City, in cooperation with the Utah Department of Transportation, is in the process of conducting an environmental study (Categorical Exclusion) to evaluate the potential environmental impacts associated with 1,200 linear feet of concrete sidewalk between Center Street and Fountain Green Elementary School. Approximately 525 feet of sidewalk would be installed on the east side of 400 West between 100 South and Center Street; the sidewalk would be installed within the Fountain Green City Park, on the east side of the trees. No trees would be removed.
The environmental review, consultation, and other actions required by applicable federal environmental laws (including Section 4(f) of the Department of Transportation Act of 1966) for this project are being or have been carried out by UDOT pursuant to 23 U.S.C 326 and a Memorandum of Understanding, State Assumption of Responsibility for Categorical Exclusions, dated June 12, 2023, and executed by FHWA and UDOT>
This notice provides an opportunity for public comment pursuant to Section 6009 of the Safe, Accountable, Flexible, and Efficient Transportation Equity Act: A legacy for Users (SAFETEA-LU) and the associated FHWA guidance dated Dec. 13, 2005, that a Section 4(f) de minimis impact finding is appropriated for the portions of the fountain Green City Park affected by this project.
Any person or group wishing to submit comments regarding this finding may do so in writing. The public comment period is 15 days, beginning from the date of publication of this notice. Comments must be emailed or postmarked by March 26, 2026.
