PUBLIC HEARING NOTICE Coalville City Council OUTDOOR LIGHTING AMENDMENTS DEVELOPMENT CODE CHAPTER 5 Public notice is hereby given that the Coalville City Council will conduct a Public Hearing to review, discuss, receive comment, and possibly consider an action on proposed amendments to outdoor lighting standards Sections 05-010, 05-040, and 05-060:H of the development code. The Public Hearing is scheduled for Monday, March 9, 2026, beginning at 6:00 P.M. at the Coalville City Hall located at 10 North Main. It has come to the attention of the city that modifications to the lighting standards consistent with current best practices in sports field lighting would be appropriate to establish clearer, more quantifiable performance criteria, and offer greater flexibility in Dark Sky Outdoor Sports Lighting. The key performance metric being considered is the off-site Candela (intensity of a light source and glare) limit of sports field lighting. All interested persons may attend in person or virtually and make public comment. Written comments may also be emailed to Coalville City at cityhall@coalvillecity.org.
