Notice of Intent to Add a Service to a Special Service District The Box Elder County Commission, acting as the legislative body of Box Elder County, has adopted a resolution on February 25, 2026, stating its intent to add the service of receiving federal mineral lease funds under Utah Code, Title 59, Chapter 21, Mineral Lease Funds, and expending those funds to be used in accordance with state and federal law to the Box Elder Special Service District. The Box Elder Special Service District's boundaries are contiguous with Box Elder County. Taxes may be levied annually upon all taxable property within the special service district. Fees or charges may be imposed to pay for some or all of the services that the special service district is proposed to provide. A protest against the addition of this service may be filed in writing with Box Elder County Clerk's Office no later than 60 days after the public hearing that will be held on March 25, 2026 at 11:30 am in the Box Elder County Commission Chambers located at 1 South Main St., Brigham City, Utah.
