- PUBLIC NOTICE VERNAL CITY ORDINANCE NO 2026-01 ADOPTED Notice is hereby given that Ordinance No. 2026-01, an ordinance of the Vernal City Council amending Chapters 5.04 through 5.16 of the Vernal City Municipal Code relating to Business Licenses, was passed and adopted February 18, 2026 in a regular City Council Meeting. This ordinance repeals and reorganizes existing provisions of the Vernal City Business License Code to establish a more cohesive and clearly sequenced framework. The amendments consolidate definitions, clarify administrative authority, standardize application and review procedures, define objective licensing criteria, modernize the appeals process through the use of an independent Hearing Officer, and revise and clarify the business license fee structure. The ordinance is intended to improve clarity, consistency, transparency, and enforceability in the administration of business licensing within Vernal City. The ordinance takes effect immediately upon adoption and posting, as provided by law. A copy of the ordinance is on file and available for public inspection at the Vernal City Recorder's Office during regular business hours. Published on the Public Notice Website February 20, 2026
