- Salt Lake Arts Academy Governing Board Meeting December 15, 2025, 5:30 pm 844 S 200 E, Salt Lake City Room 201 Board Members in Attendance: Diana Cabrales (Secretary), Sarah Colonna, Amy Fehlberg, Carol Finegan (arrived 5:45 pm), Claudia Geist, Kelly Goff, Greg Ostrander (Chair), Reid Prentice, Whitney Provo (arrived 6:20 pm for closed session), Shantel Stoff (Treasurer), Kimberly Venable, Nick Vienneau, Amy Yuda (arrived 5:55 pm) Board Members Excused: Catherine (Cat) Palmer Staff in Attendance: Deborah Candler, Whitney Childers, Jen Guillory, Nicole Laird, Dan Rose Quorum: 12 of 14 Board members present for open session Welcome and Introductions . Greg Ostrander called the meeting to order. Approval of Minutes - November 17, 2025 . Correction noted that Nick Steffens is no longer a Board member. . Motion: Kimberly Venable . Second: Kelly Goff . Vote: Unanimously approved Principal's Report . Building updates and safety improvements were reviewed. . Counselor hiring is in progress with a January start anticipated. . Fundraising Report . Year-end donations are increasing. . A $25,000 anonymous gift was received. . Challenge grants and pending grants were noted. . Additional individual contributions are sought by late January. Finance Report . Midyear state funding is approximately 1% below projections. . Budget updates will be presented next month. . Financial statements were reviewed. . A new counselor position is funded within the current budget. . A replacement lighting console has been approved. . Form 990 was filed by the November 30, 2025 deadline. . Carpet installation for the PE room is planned and does not require Board approval. Requests to Speak . None. Closed Session .
