AN ORDINANCE OF EAGLE MOUNTAIN CITY, UTAH,
REPEALING CHAPTERS 2.30 (PARKS AND RECREATION ADVISORY BOARD), CHAPTER 2.40 (RECREATION SPORTS BOARD), CHAPTER 2.55 (CEMETERY BOARD), CHAPTER 2.60 (MILITARY AND VETERANS ADVISORY BOARD), AND CHAPTER 2.70 (ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT BOARD) OF THE EAGLE MOUNTAIN MUNICIPAL CODE; AND ENACTING CHAPTER 2.80 ESTABLISHING A COMMUNITY SERVICES BOARD.
PREAMBLE
WHEREAS, Eagle Mountain City has a longstanding practice of utilizing citizen advisory boards to provide input and guidance to City staff and the City Council; and
WHEREAS, the City has grown, its organizational structure has evolved, creating a need to realign advisory boards to better match current operations and priorities; and
WHEREAS, the City Council finds that consolidating existing advisory boards into a single Community Services Board will streamline resident participation and provide a clear, centralized advisory structure for community wellbeing; and
WHEREAS, the proposed Community Services Board will advise on matters related to sports, recreation, culture, arts, heritage, cemetery services, events, and overall community wellbeing and will serve as the Recreation, Arts, and Parks (RAP) Tax Advisory Committee; and
WHEREAS, the City Council finds that repealing Chapters 2.30 (Parks and Recreation Advisory Board), Chapter 2.40 (Recreation Sports Board), Chapter 2.55 (Cemetery Board), Chapter 2.60 (Military and Veterans Advisory Board), and Chapter 2.70 (Economic Development Board) realigns the Eagle Mountain Municipal Code with current operations and priorities.
BE IT ORDAINED by the City Council of Eagle Mountain City, Utah:
1. The City Council finds that all required notices and procedural requirements have been satisfied.
2. Chapters 2.30 (Parks and Recreation Advisory Board), 2.40 (Recreation Sports Board), 2.55 (Cemetery Board), 2.60 (Military and Veterans Advisory Board), and 2.70 (Economic Development Board) of the Eagle Mountain Municipal Code are hereby repealed.
3. Chapter 2.80 of the Eagle Mountain Municipal Code is hereby enacted and adopted as set forth in Exhibit A, attached hereto and incorporated herein by reference.
4. This Ordinance shall take effect upon its first posting or publication.
