Notice: A midterm vacancy has occurred on the Mantua municipal council. The council will follow the procedures required by Utah Code ยง 20A-1-510 to fill the vacancy. (Term through Dec. 31, 2027) The vacancy occurred February 5th, 2026.
Key Steps & Timeline
-Public Interview Meeting: The Council will meet to interview applicants on Wednesday March 4th, 2026, at 6:00 PM.-Location: Mantua Town Hall, 409 North Main Street, Mantua, UT 84324.-Applications are due March 3rd at 1pm.-Legal Requirement: The remaining council members must fill the vacancy within 30 days after the vacancy occurs.-Public Notice Period: In accordance with state law, this notice is being provided at least two weeks prior to the meeting held to fill the vacancy.-Interview Process: In an open meeting, the council will interview each applicant who submits their name and meets qualifications.-Appointment & Vote: The council will appoint a registered voter from the municipality who meets residency and other qualifications. Appointment requires a majority vote of the city council.
Qualifications for Replacement
-Must be a registered voter.
-Must have resided in the municipality (or relevant district) for at least 12 consecutive monthsimmediately before appointment.
