Highland City 5400 West Civic Center Drive ~ Suite 1 Highland, UT 84003 Phone 756-5751 | Fax 756-6903 NOTICE OF HIGHLAND PLANNING COMMISSION PUBLIC HEARING The Highland Planning Commission will hold a public hearing on Tuesday, February 24, 2026, at 7:00 PM or as soon thereafter as possible, in the Highland City Council Chambers, 5400 West Civic Center Dr., Highland, UT, to consider and receive comments regarding the following: - John Armstrong has applied to amend section 3-4109(4) of the Development Code to reduce the side yard setback that applies to accessory structures near parkway details. - Highland City is considering amending Chapter 3, Article 7 of the Development Code related to signs permitted within the Residential Professional (R-P) zone to allow additional monument and/or commercial center freestanding signs and/or to adjust the required setbacks for monument signs to facilitate additional monument signs within the R-P zone. - Texas Instruments has applied to rezone the property located on the southeast corner of 6000 West and SR-92 (parcel 11:037:0074) from R-1-40 to Public Utility (P-U) to enable the construction of a water well for utility usage. The proposed rezone only is for property owned by Texas Instruments. The P-U zone allows as conditional uses certain utility facilities such as wells, pumping stations, and power substations, and the zone prohibits other development. Any person may provide comments during the public hearing and can provide written comments or objections by mail to 5400 West Civic Center Dr., Ste 1, Highland, UT 84003, or by email to planning@highlandut.gov. An owner of property affected by a rezone may, no later than 10 days after the public hearing described above, file a written objection to inclusion of their property in the rezone by mail or email at the provided addresses, which objection will be provided to the City Council. The meeting agenda, together with staff reports, proposed land use regulations and amendments if applicable, and other information regarding these items will be published on the City's website (https://highlandut.gov/1111/Agenda-and-Minutes-Portal) Thursday evening prior to the meeting.
