CATEGORICAL EXCLUSION DETERMINATION
For the proposed project relating to the Wastewater Collection and Treatment Improvement Project (project) in the City of Corinne (Corinne), Utah.
The Utah Division of Water Quality (Division) has conducted a review of the proposed Project in accordance with State and Federal procedures for implementing the National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA), (40 CFR Part 6). The Division has determined that this Project is eligible for a categorical exclusion. Accordingly, the Project is exempted from further substantive environmental review requirements under NEPA.
The following is a brief description of the proposed action and a brief statement of how the proposed project meets the criteria for a categorical exclusion.
Corinne plans to remove and replace of approximately 19,000 feet of wastewater collection pipe; remove of 63 existing manholes; install 62 new manholes; replace the river lift station pumps; and install approximately 1,630 feet of force main. In addition, the Corinne plans to reconstruct the wastewater treatment headworks structure with a screen for removal of inorganic solids.
This project meets the criteria for granting a categorical exclusion because the proposed project is for new minor ancillary facilities adjacent to or on the same property as existing facilities; is the project for rehabilitation of existing facilities; and does not contain any of the excluding factors under 40 CFR 6.204(a)(1)(ii).
The documentation to support this decision will be on file at the Division and is available for public scrutiny upon request. Comments concerning this decision may be addressed to Candice A. Hasenyager, Director Division of Water Quality: Attention Beth Wondimu.
