Notice: A midterm vacancy has occurred on the Mantua municipal council. The council will follow the procedures required by Utah Code ยง 20A-1-510 to fill the vacancy. (Term through Dec. 31, 2027). Key Steps & Timeline
-Timeline: The remaining council members must fill the vacancy within 30 days after the vacancy occurs. Vacancy Date: 1/30/2026-Public Notice: The council will provide public notice at least two weeks before the meeting to fill the vacancy.-Interview Process: In an open meeting, the council will interview each applicant who submits their name and meets qualifications.-Appointment & Vote: The council will appoint a registered voter from the municipality who meets residency and other qualifications. Appointment requires a majority vote of the city council.
Qualifications for Replacement
-Must be a registered voter.
-Must have resided in the municipality (or relevant district) for at least 12 consecutive monthsimmediately before appointment.
