Board Meeting Agenda Roots High School 2250 S 1300 West, WVC 84119 January 30, 2026, 10:00 am ____________________________________________________________________________________ Item: Call To Order/Roll Call/Welcome Public Comments (10 minutes) School Business -Approve LEA Specific Educator Licenses Discussion/Approval 3-year LEA Specific License 2026 Brad Mortensen (EMR): Brad has taught this class previously with an LEA-specific license. The license has lapsed, but have him teaching it to help complete a Career Pathway for our CTE program. Cam Stowell ( Business Office): Cam currently has an LEA license for Computer Science. After working with students and a school-wide focus on building students' executive functioning skills, we determined that a business office class would be a better fit for our students than a Computer Science class. Both courses fulfill the needed graduation requirements. Jared Cureton (Landscape Architecture & Geography): Jared previously taught Landscape Architecture and History in Idaho. He has completed his out-of-state license, but it does not include Geography or Landscape Architecture. Our goal is to deliver a comprehensive Career Pathway with CTE, culminating in students participating in a summer internship with a Roots Landscape crew. Next year, we will add 2 more courses to his LEA license. -School Update Discussion -Cognia We need two board members Feb. 3, 10:30 AM Closed Session to Discuss the character, competence, or physical or mental health of an individual.
