NOTICE OF INTENT TO FILL CITY COUNCIL VACANCY
The City of South Salt Lake City Council gives notice of its intent to appoint an individual to fill the vacant Council seat for City Council District 1. To qualify for appointment to the position an individual must be: 1) a registered voter, 2) a resident of the City of South Salt Lake, 3) a resident of District 1, and 4) must have lived within the boundaries of the City and District 1 for the previous twelve consecutive months.
Qualified individuals interested in filling the position may submit an application in person, on a form prepared by the City, and attach a resume outlining qualifications and experience, to the City Recorder at 220 East Morris Ave. #200, South Salt Lake, Utah 84115. To be considered, completed applications must be received no later than 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday, February 18, 2026. The City Council will meet to review the applications and interview candidates on Wednesday, February 25, 2026, at 6:30 p.m. at the City Council Chambers, 220 East Morris Ave., Second Floor. Individuals who submit applications must be physically present in the City Council Chambers at the time of the City Council's meeting listed above to be considered for this position.
