MARRIOTT-SLATERVILLE CITY COUNCIL MEETING 1570 West 400 North Thursday, December 18, 2025 - 6:30 P.M. Council Members Present: Dennis Illum, President Erin Holley, Vice-pres. Rob Smout Dee Christoffersen Brad Slater Council Present Electronically: Excused: Bill Morris, Administrator Brent Hales, Finance Officer Mayor and Staff: Scott Van Leeuwen, Mayor Trent Meyerhoffer, Director Zack Loveland, Director Dana Spencer, City Recorder Marilyn Draper, Secretary Visitors: Coral Mangun, Andrea Dahl, Barry & Lisa Panter, Chelsie Stanger, Kerry Wayne, Kristine Smout, Sue & Dave Bodily, Darrell Spencer, Brady Spencer, Jaimee Christoffersen, Brenda & Aaron Buttars, Mariilyn & Ren Meyerhoffer, Becki & Les Syme, Marilyn & Shawn Holley, Orvil Holley, Scott & Savannah Cook, Shay Holley, Cara Tippets Warren, Eric Clark, Barbara Phipps. 1. Call to Order/ Pledge of Allegiance. Pres. Illum called the meeting to order at 6:29 PM, and the Pledge of Allegiance was recited. 2. Discussion/action on minutes. Motion by Mr. Slater to approve the minutes from November 13, 2025. Seconded Mr. Smout. Vote passed unanimously. 3. Discussion/action on 2026 Meeting Schedule. Pres. Illum reviewed the 2026 Meeting Schedule. Staff indicated that the schedule remains the same. Motion by Rob Smout motion to move meeting to 6:00 PM starting next year and approve the 2026 Meeting Schedule. Seconded Erin Holley. Vote called and passed unanimously. 4. Presentation: Annual Awards. Mayor Van Leeuwen presented the annual awards as Mr. Loveland read the names of the recipients along with a brief statement about each recipient receiving an award. Good Neighbor Award: Ken Allred, Marilyn & Ren Meyerhoffer, Kent Meyerhoffer, Shay Holley, Aaron Buttars. Centurion Award: H. Orvil Holley, Ellen Marie Dahl. Certificate of Recognition Award: Slater Jones Elna Lucas Community Culture and History Award: Maurice Pitcher, Kerry Wayne. H. Orvil Holley Youth Leadership: Saylor Wall, Lincoln Wall. Darrell Mecham Outstanding Community Service Award: Sue Bodily, Caleb Warren, Lilli Warren. 5. Mayor's Appointment to various boards for new administration. Motion by Rob Smout, second by Dee Christoffersen, to approve the appointment of Les Syme as Mayor Van Leeuwen's replacement on the Boards for: Bona Vista Water Improvement District, Central Weber Sewer Improvement District, and Weber Fire District. 6. Convene Christmas Party with Planning Commission and volunteers in Multi-purpose Room. Being no further business, Pres. Illum adjourned the meeting at 7:00 PM. Christmas Party was catered by Bella's and convened in the Senior Center.
